Taking a little time to try to catch up!!!

Now that I have a few minutes to sit down and
try and catch up on the last month and a half,
I'll try and do just that. It has been a busy month
and a half for us. After 4th of July we left on our
trip to Colorado, Grandma and Grandpa Compston
went with us, it's always fun to have the with us,
the first day we spent just driving.
Then the 2nd day we went to The Oz Museum
which was a neat place.

Then we went on to Fort Larned , which was
established in 1859 to protect mail coaches and
freighters along the Santa Fe Trail from Indian
Raids. It was an interesting place. There are tons
of other great pictures from here but it would
take all night to download them, so you'll have
to see them when you come visit. This first
picture is of some little baby birds in their
nest waiting for mom to come feed them.

Today, July 6th, was also John's birthday so we took
him out to eat in the evening. Hope you had a wonderful
birthday. I love you.
Heard from Christina today and found out that she is
pregnant. That will be our 8th grandchild.
Congratulations Jacob and Chrissy. We love you very much.
I guess this is it,until I get more time to sit down
and catch up.
Wish you all could have been there
with us.

4th of July

So we got to spend time on the 4th with some of our
family, but not all and missed everyone that was not
there, but we did have a good time with all that
were able to make it.The food was great as usual
and the company also. We went to Donald and
Dy's in Cincinnati, it rained so we weren't able
to shoot off fireworks like we usually did, but

the younger kids did get to do their sparklers.
Donna, Braeden, Bethannie, Tara sitting around table
talking.
Joshua and Mattie aren't they so cute!
Bob, James,and Kyle.
Rachel and Mackenzie playing a game.
Bethannie and Braeden loved playing together
they don't get to see each other much since
Bethannie moved.

Donald doing magical tricks for James, if you look close
enough you can see Jame's tonsils, he's laughing so hard.
We all had a great time, thanks Donald and Dy for opening
your house to us, it is always great for all of us to get
together.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY LATE!!!

First I want to say a Happy Father's Day to all the
Dad's out there. I know I'm a little late but,
better late than never. John has just left today
to go back north and I didn't want to take time
out with him to post, since our time is short to
start with. Anyway I hope you all had a wonderful
day. Especially the guy's in our family. John Sr.,
John Jr.,James, Travis, and David.
Our Sat. started out with Tara and the kids leaving.
Then a little later we took a trip to Ninety Six,
a small town about 1/2 hour away to a
National Historical Site where 2
Revolutionary War battles took place.
Here are a few pictures taken there. They were
doing some reenactments and and dressed in period
attire. Pretty hot day to be wearing some of that
clothing.

On Sunday we went to church and the came home
and just chilled for a while then we decided to go
to the golf course. John played and I drove him
around in the golf cart, golfing is not my favorite
especially when it's as hot as it was, but I do
go with John usually when he's here. Here
are some pictures of him while he was golfing.
I think he was exhausted when he finished,
all the hot weather does you in after 4 hrs.
Cooling off with a cool cloth in between holes.

Tara, and Grandkids Visit

Tara and the kids came to visit on Sat. the 13th.
While it was really hot here in the high 90's, and the
heat index around 100+, we decided to cool ourselves
in the pools on Tues. and Wed. On Tues. we went
to our Activity Center here and spent around 4 1/2
hours there. It was a good time. I think we all got a
little sunburned.

Wed. we went over to my Relief Society Presidents
house and went swimming. They had a pool deep
enough that they could have a diving board,so
the kids loved that. We stayed a couple of hours
there, then off to do other errands. Thanks Lorrie
for letting us come and cool off.
Thursday morning John made it down and after
sleeping for just a bit he started finishing staining
the deck, so he got the kids in on that with him.On Friday we went to the pool and then after coming
home and resting a short while, John and Tara
went to play some golf. After they came home
John had the idea to get the camper out and camp out
in the camper that night. So while I finished Dinner
they pulled out the camper. I pulled out the fan or
I would not have been in the camper that night.
We all started out in the camper although some
of us ended up inside before light, Tara and Mackenzie. LOL
We also made homemade Ice cream that evening
even though it was late before we finished it. But boy
was it good, Butter finger Ice cream, yummy.
We had a really good time with Tara and the kids and
wish we could do this more often.
