The last 2 months we have been on the road quiet a bit.
The end of March we had a death in the family,
Uncle Bob pasted away and so I went to Ky. for the
Funeral. He was a dearly loved Uncle, but had
Alzheimer's the last couple of years, then he got
pneumonia and did not recover from some of the
complications from that. We miss him, but know
he is in a better place. I spent a day in the Mtns.
with my Aunt and Uncle and cousins. It was
good to get to talk with everyone and talk
about old time and all the fun we had growing
up and getting to see each other quite often. I
also got to stay a couple of days with Mom.
After leaving Mom's, I went down to Cumberland
Falls to meet John, and some friends of ours for
a weekend camping trip. The weather wasn't
the best, but wasn't as bad as we thought it was
going to be. It was cool.
We hiked most every day. Went down to the
Falls, and a couple of other small falls.
After leaving there I headed home and was home
for a couple of weeks. Then when John came home
the week before Easter I went back with him to
Chicago.
The weekend of Easter was a long one, as we
headed to Dayton to work on a bathroom at
the Whitewood house. We pulled out the tile
and put up new drywall and tub surround.
We also painted the room. That was all done
on Sat. Then we headed down to Cincinnati,
to John's parents.
We had Easter with the family and friends of
the family, which is done every Easter and
Fourth of July. There is always a house full.
Although not all were able to come.
Then on Monday we were off to D.C.,
John had a Conference for a couple of days.
This was the time that the tornado's hit
alot of the Southern States.
After leaving D.C. we headed toward home,
South Carolina. We made a stop in Va. to
see Chrissy, Jacob, and Elijah. Want to see
Jacob before he left on his deployment.
We hope he has safety on his way, We
love you. After getting home and getting
our mail, we rested for a couple of hours
then it was off to Destin.
We got to the condo at around 10pm.
We did a little painting and carpet cleaning
there, but did manage to get to the beach a
few times.
After leaving Destin to head back to Chicago,
we stopped by to see John III. We had a nice
dinner with him, then back onto the road. Made it
back around 10:30 am.
On Mother's Day we went up to Tara and James
house. We had a nice time with Tara as James
had taken Bethannie and James to see the Reds
play the Cubs. Thanks Tara for the Dinner and gifts.
We love you and hope to see you more since you
are so close.
The Thursday after Mother's Day we started
home. We stopped in Lexington to see
Jennifer, Autumn, Jake, and Bryson. We didn't
get there till after 9pm, but had a good visit. It was
Jennifer's birthday and Autumn's had just past on
Jennifer's birthday and Autumn's had just past on
Tuesday, so we stopped and got a DQ cake and
filled everyone up on sugar before bed.
Then it was back on the road at around midnight.
We made it home at around 8:30 am Friday.
Kristy, Travis, and Braeden stopped by and spent
the night on there way back from Disney. We had a
nice visit with them. John and Braeden took a hike as
Braeden said that evening, then we built a fire

in the fireplace on the back porch and just
visited. Then it was down to the basement to
play air hockey and pool. then while we all were
getting ready for bed, Braeden and Grandpappy
got out the star wars figures and played on the
bed for a little while.
While we didn't get to see John William he did call on
Monday after everyone was gone and we got to
talk for about a hour and a half.
It was so good to get to see and/or talk to everyone.
We love you all and miss seeing you.
So that was our travels of the last couple of months.
Now it's home for about a month before I head
out to Girls Camp with the Church. Oh, we might get
to get a weekend camping trip in also, it will be one
close to home though.
