A Day Of Rememberance

As I refect on this day 31 years ago,it is a time
of sorrow and of happiness. Sorrow because on
this date my little boy, Christopher Michael, was
born, stillborn. It is sad for me to think of this day,
without tears in my eyes. I so wish he were here
with my other children.
I do know though that through the gospel
one day if I keep my covenants with Heavenly
Father I will get to see Christopher again and get
to raise him. He was a valiant spirit to get to
only come down and get a body, not needing to
go through all the things we are having to. That
gives me great comfort to know and I know I am blessed to
have him sent into my family. This is the
happiness that the gospel brings into your life
to know that one day if we but only do
what is expected of us we will return to live
with our Father in Heaven, with all our love
ones that choose to do the same. This is
not always the simplest thing to do, there
are all kinds of things and people that
try to get in our path, but all He ask is
we but try our best.
I want all my children, biological and step,
that I love them with all my heart. They mean
the world to me. I know that I am not the best
Mother in the world, but I would do anything for you.
Know that You are always in my thoughts and prayers.
I love you Christopher.

Taveling on to Destin, FL.!!

The sunsets are beautiful.
Soft white sands.

A few days after the wedding to started our
trip to Destin, Fl., where we going to do nothing
but work. You would have thought that we would
be going here to enjoy ourselves, but no such luck.
We have a condo there that we had been renting out,
and the guy moved out, so we decided that we would
put it on a rental program, so we had cleaning to do,
and shopping to do to get furniture into it.
Now I like to shop for furniture, but not having to
try and get this all done in 5 days, meaning cleaning,
and Shopping and it being delivered and set-up.
Needless to say we work our rear ends off.
I think we did go down to the beach on Mother's Day
for about a hour and a half. I think I slept most of that
time. Total exhaustion. Not getting to bed any night
before 11:00 pm. and up at 6:00 am because of the sunlight
coming in the balcony window.
It is all done now and up and ready to be rented.
SO if you or you know anyone that would like to
rent a place out in Destin, give us a holler and we'll give
you a descent price.

THE WEDDING!!!!!

This is a picture Jennifer took, I thought it was
a great picture.

So I guess I should start with the getting ready part
of the week. Kristy came and picked me up
from John and Mary's on Monday before the
wedding. And one of the first things on the list
to find me a dress, since it was only 5 days before
the wedding and I didn't have one. We got that
done only after looking at every store in the mall
and finding one at the last place we went to.
Needless to say I hate to go shopping for dresses.
Then we finished up buying things that were still
left to get. Kristy had most of it already done, so
that wasn't bad. She had spray tanning she had to
do, hair appt.'s. On Thursday she wasn't feeling to well
so we had to for go our mani, and pedi. and dinner with
the girls.
On Friday morning it was off to make the flowers
for the wedding. This was fun but the place
that we did them at could have been a little
more organized. They had the wrong vases out
so Kristy had to show them which ones she
wanted. We finished up the flowers thanks to
Rachel and Tara who also helped.
Kristy was then off to the house to get the
centerpieces together ,while I ran to the
store for some odds and ends. Then
it was off to the reception hall for her.
Braeden and I stayed at home and Travis
came home and Guess what Braeden got?
That's right a hair cut!!

We went to the rehearsal that evening,
then to Marion's for the rehearsal dinner.
Thanks Krista for dinner, it was great getting
to know everyone a little better.

I love the way the back of her dress looks.
Cutting the cake.Throwing the bouquet, I think it went through
a couple of hands.
Taking off the garter. I think Kyle got this one.
Hopefully it will be a few years before we're
at his wedding. He's only 6.The Bridal party.
Rachel, Kristy, Travis, Braeden, Mackenzie, and Ryan
It was a lovely wedding, every thing went great.
Thanks to every one who came to support Kristy
and Travis in their new life together.

As we travel on

We were then off to Ohio in April for
Easter at the Westermeyers. We
had a great time as usual getting to
visit every one.
The next weekend we made a trip home
to get mail and check on things, then
back to Chicago for a day and a half,
before we were off to Austin, Texas,
for a conference John had there.
After returning to Chicago, we made
another trip to S.C. and then it was back
to Ohio to help Kristy finish getting ready
for the wedding. That's where the next
post begins.

The USS Goerge H. W. Bush

While we were in Va. for Elijah's blessing,
Jacob was able to take us on the ship that
he is on, The USS George H. W. Bush.
This was a wonderful opportunity for
us to get to see where he works. We
got alot of exercise that day climbing
stairs!! Can't remember just how
many but if your were to ask Grandma
Compston I'm sure she could tell you.
Thanks Jacob we really enjoyed ourselves.
