Surprised For Sweetest Day

Friday morning I get this call from
John at around 3:30 a.m. Telling
me to unlock the door. He had
come to surprise me for Sweetest
Day. My first thought when I
Got the call so early in the morning
was, what was wrong, he doesn't
go to work quiet that early. So it
was a great surprise, I didn't expect
him till this weekend. So we went out
to dinner on Friday because I already
had commitments on Sat. morning
that I couldn't break. So, I went and did
that and he worked here at the house
cutting the tree up that fell on the house
last week. Then we spent the evening
together. He left today at around 5:00 p.m.
So now I'm all alone again. I noticed this rose
that had just bloomed in our yard and thought
I would share some of it's beauty. Hope you
enjoy it as I do each time I pass my window
and am out in the yard. Hope each of you had
a wonderful Sweetest Day also!!

New Hair Cut

O.K., now that I've gotten all the limbs up out
of the yard and a shower I can sit down and
do what i had planned on before this all happened,
that is to post these pictures of my new hair cut.
Not totally for sure if I like it or not. I think it
needs a body perm put in it,but others don't.
I guess it will just take some getting use to.

Pictures In The Daylight

So it's daylight and now I can get the whole
picture. We had two holes about 3 inches
in diameter in our roof, branches all over the
roof and yard. So it's clean-up time. The
handyman came this morning and he put
some shingles over the holes in the roof for
a temporary fix and now we are getting
ready to cut the tree off the house. I have
called the insurance company and are
waiting to hear back from them. So it's back
to cleaning up the yard.

Fallen Tree

It has been raining today for most of the day.
Most of the day it has been pretty light, but
we have had some pretty good down pours,
nothing serious, till around 8:00p.m. I was
sitting here at the computer and all of a
sudden I thought I heard the wind pick up
and I thought that I better go out and get
our hammock in so the wind wouldn't get
hold of it and send it sailing. It was wet since
I didn't get it in before the rain, so I put
it on the screened in porch. Then I came
back in to work on the computer again.
Next thing I know I hear this loud boom.
So I go to investigate, thinking that it is
probably one of the chairs on the deck.
Not even!!!! One of the chairs had slide
across the deck, but it was a plastic chair
and I knew it wasn't the cause of the noise
that I had heard. So I went to investigate
more, the grill was in its place,so onto
the bedroom,I looked out the back and
everything seemed fine, then I looked
out the window on the side of the house
and I thought I saw something out the
corner of my eye. I went into the bathroom
and opened the window and there was a tree
laying up against the house. There was a big
piece of it on the ground and some on the
other side of the garage. So I called John
to tell him the good news and to see what
he wanted done. Little did I know at that
time that there was a tomahawk looking
piece of tree sticking into the roof of the
garage and it was starting to leak. I had
already call to have someone come in the
morning to cut the tree off the guttering
and house, since it didn't look like on that
side that it had done any major damage,as
far as leaking. But as I saw the tomahawk
in the roof I went into the garage and looked
at the ceiling I noticed the ceiling starting to
get wet, right about the place the tomahawk
was at. So off I went to call the handyman, and
bless his soul,he came out to put a temporary
fix till morning on it. So hopefully everything
will stay put tonight.

Looks like we have a tomahawk coming out of
our roof. The piece of tree is actually into the
roof and the roof started leaking. So a call to
the handy man to have him come out a 9:00p.m.
He's a good guy though and came out for a
temporary fix. He'll be back in the morning to
cut the tree off the house.

Here is the tree on the house above. Below
is the part that broke off, I guess, when it hit
the house along with the part out front.

Tree limbs on the ground out front. I'll get
better picture in the morning when I can
actually see what I'm taking a picture of.
Hopefully the night will be a quiet one.

Edisto Island

On Sept. 26th we started on our way back
to South Carolina to get ready to go to
Edisto Island with John's parents. We have
a Time Share and that is where we stayed
while there. We got to the house early, about
3:30a.m. on Sat. morning to get some work
done around the house before we left on our
trip, mowing grass, going to store for groceries,
doing laundry and such. Mary and John got to
the house that afternoon. We left on Sunday
at around 12:00 and got to Edisto at around
4:00p.m., so the trip isn't to bad. Edisto Island
is a quiet place with not a lot to do but chill.
We love to go to the back waters there and
watch the dolphins and the sunsets. Here are some
pictures of just that.

The pictures above are of the waves crashing
on the ocean side of the island which not to
far from where we were watching the sunset.
Under that picture is pictures of where we went
to Charleston for the day and went to Fort
Moultrie. As you can see John and his Dad dressed
like twins that day. The next picture is of Fort
Sumter that is across the water from Fort
Moultrie. Below is one of the cannons they
had on display at their visitors center.
We had a great time and started on our way
back home on Thursday. Everyone left on
Sat. morning so now its quiet here and I need
to get somethings done as far as cleaning. So I'll
catch you on our next outing or event.

was held at a winery in Manchester,
Ohio. It was a beautiful setting by
the river. We wish them all the
happiness that the world has to
bring them. We always enjoy being
able to see and talk with family and
friends and catch up one all the news
in their lives.Pictured is Amanda's and Brennan's family.

This a picture of the wedding party.

Pictured in the front is Maria. In the next row is

Door County Wisconsin Here We Come

On Sept. 12th we were on our way
to Door County, Wisconsin. This is
where Jim and Janet, Johns' old boss
at the Midway airport lives. They had
invited us up for a visit, and this was
the first chance we had to go. The
weather was a little cool but the
company was great. Here are a few
pictures that were taken there.

Jim, John, and Janet at A.L.Johnson's Restaurant.
This a restaurant that's roof is covered with grass.
They put goats on the roof to keep the grass trimed.

John and I outside the restaurant.

These last two pictures are of Jim and
John at a lighthouse on Cana Island that
we visited while there. We also played a
little golf while there, which you all know
is my favorite thing to do, we did have
fun and I didn't do to bad.
