Camping at Table Rock

The first part of June, John and I met at Table Rock

State Park in upper South Carolina. We camped for

the weekend and had a great time.

We went down to Devils Fork State Park, which is

about 20 minutes from Table Rock, on the first

day. There is a nice lake there, Lake Jocassee, and

hiking among other things to do.

We went on one of the short hikes there about

1 1/2 mile. We hadn't really planned on hiking

there so we hadn't brought water with us. So

a short hike was all that we did. While on the hike

the weather started to turn bad on us so we headed

back to the camp site. Not long after getting there

it started to rain and it continued the rest of the

evening.

The next morning we decided to hike up or at

least part of the Table Rock trail.

After getting to the Nature Center that they

have there we decided to take a different trail,

so we did the Carrick Trail which is a 1.9 mile trail.

After meeting up to the Trail to Table Rock we decided

to start up it, didn't know if we would go the whole

way, which was 3.6 miles one way, or not. This trail

was very strenuous. To say the least we should

have taken more water with us. We were woren out

by the time we got back down.

This is a black rat snake that we saw on the

trail which was a interesting color.

After getting back, the guy at the Nature Center told

us that it may have been getting ready to shed

his skin.

The view was beautiful from up there as you can

see.

Rest area for me after we made it up to the top.

Back at camp. We had a great time together and

hope to go back again soon.
