Trip to Michigan and Sleeping Bear Dunes

John had a meeting for work in Traverse City,

Michigan, so I tagged along. This is a beautiful

place along the Lake. This picture was taken

one night after we had Dinner and we drove

along the shoreline.

Here are some pictures taken at sunset, they

were awesome.

This is a picture at Sleeping Bear Dunes. Yes

we did hike it, only 1.4 miles one way, but

felt like 10 miles in that sand.

John at the beginning of the Dunes.

This picture was taken on the other side of the

Dunes, Lake Michigan.

John on coming back.

We stopped by a blacksmith shop on the way

out and he was busy working and telling us about

the area.

This is one of the Old Coast Guard places. This

man told us about the tools and equipment

that they use back then to rescue people from

stranded or sinking ships.

This picture was taken on the scenic drive as we

left.

Picture taken at one of the stops on the scenic

drive, of the dunes.

This picture is of Sleeping Bear Dune. The wind

was awful here it was blowing the sand around

really bad, had to almost keep you eyes closed.

This was at another stop on the scenic drive of

people climbing up the dune. As you can see

it almost straight up and down. Some are

almost crawling up. Not for us!!

Looking over at the place we were just at.

Guess who, we had a great time. This was on

another short hike, about a mile.

These swans were in the water just off the road

as we traveled just looking around.

Beautiful area, would love to go there again. Got

to see David and Jill's cottage while we were there

also. Didn't get to see Jill, but did get to see David

as he was there working on the house.
